Using the countdown timer
Tap a preset like 5 or 10 minutes, or type hours, minutes and seconds and press Set. Press Start to begin. When the countdown hits zero an alarm sounds until you reset the timer. The remaining time also shows in your browser tab, so you can keep working in other tabs.
Popular uses include cooking, study sessions (try 25 minutes for Pomodoro), workouts, presentations and classroom activities. Use fullscreen mode to display it on a projector. Need to measure elapsed time instead? Use the stopwatch.
Frequently asked questions
Does the timer keep running in a background tab?+
Yes. The timer is based on the real end time, so it stays accurate even if your browser slows down background tabs.
Can I change the alarm sound?+
Yes, choose your favorite sound in Settings. The timer uses the same sound as the alarm clock.
